Don't Give Up!!

The Power of Yet

I must say, I love Sesame Street for many reasons. As a mother of three, we've watched a lot of Sesame Street videos over the years and one of our favorites is a catchy tune called “The Power of Yet”, performed by Janelle Monae. Not only does it make you want to move, it also gives you something to think about.

The word yet is empowering! It holds such power because it means you’re NOT done and there is still potential for something more or something better. It’s a word that positions you to have a mindset of growth and not of stagnancy. It means that perseverance and practice can take you farther than you ever imagined!

Have you landed your dream job yet? Have you written your first book yet? Has your toddler mastered potty training yet? Have you met your goal weight yet? Are you getting enough rest yet? Have you learned to love and appreciate yourself yet? If your answer is no to these questions or any questions like these, take a lesson from Sesame Street…

“Just breathe don’t lose control

Keep trying and you’ll reach a goal

You just didn’t get it yet, but you’ll make it soon I bet

That’s the power of yet!”
